By looking at how different shots are used in film and TV, we as the audience can be told a lot about the scene, the characters, the context, and the environment. By using different types of shots, we can change what the audience is viewing in scenes and what emotion is providing the audience.

Dutch canted angle shot

I took this photo of my friend Charlotte. She was doing some revision work and we asked her if she wanted to help. We took this tilted angle shot of her with her head in her hands from stress. The angle shot is used to represent the way of the character, for example not being in order.

Wide Shot

Charlotte also let us take this photo. We decided it was a wide shot as it showed her doing her work in an environment which is school.

Over the shoulder shot.

I found my friend Sam who said he would help with some photos too. Sam and Zoe demonstrated a over the shoulder shot. We did this by showing Zoes left shoulder and Sam being shown on the right. This could show a conversation or an interaction.

Close up shot

In this photo, me and Zoe demonstrated a close up photo. In which it foreshadows the characters and show the audience something the character is unaware of. This type of shot could make the audience think about what is yet to come.

High angle shot

This shot is taken when a camera angle is higher than the character. This could show there is power over them or makes the character look weak.

Head shot

A headshot could be used to differ characters. Its main purpose is to show emotions the character may be experiencing and how they feel/react to it.
