This documentary follows Lou Carvell who collects classic cars and in this documentary he discusses what features of cars he likes the most and how they differ from cars today.
The documentary consists of b roll footage, mainly of cars or Lou driving. The use of b roll and interview narration makes the final edit very visually pleasing to the audience. The short documentary starts off by a garage door opening, revealing 3 cars, 1 of which's engine is reving and smoke is coming out of the exhaust. Whilst we hear the diegetic sound (the cars and the garage door), a voice of god - interview style narration.
The images have paired up with the audio clips and the interview to add a sense of realism and authenticity to the viewer. If the audio was not included with the images it may become more boring to the viewer as they are seeing the subject of the film but listening to someone talking.
The images and sounds have been lined up through the editing process. The b roll of the three cars has been filmed and the audio has been collected from the interview and when edited the volume levels have been adjusted so that both sources can be heard. The first sounds that can be heard reflect on how the interview has started, Lou explains that cars used to be "simple" in how you start the engine and turn the lights on. This gives a general introduction in the point that they "used" to be simple.
In the next sequence, Lou talks about how the car feels on the road. This is paired up with b roll footage of a road and then of one of his cars driving on the road. This works as there is a natural link to the dialogue and the b roll footage. Proving the point that having the images and audio line up together it gives a more visually pleasing affect on the audience.
In this sequence, Lou talks about how cars are design and how it "boggles his mind" that someone can design cars the way they do. In this clip, Lou says "look at these suicide doors the way they open" and the b roll footage plays of him opening the doors on the car. This shows the words being said and the footage matching up.
